Defending a Title Is Always Harder than the First Victory

The seventh annual regional round of the T-PROFI Talent for Companies competition in the Central Bohemian Region was once again successful for the Foxconn student team, who defended their first place in the region and qualified for the national finals in Prague for the second consecutive time.

The task of seven teams was to assemble a functional model of a testing compression room from the well-known Merkur construction set according to project documentation within a three-hour time limit. Each of the competing teams represented their district and consisted of representatives of elementary school students, high school students, and one socially responsible company from the given region. Foxconn has long collaborated with and supported the Kutná Hora Vocational School, Technical High School, and Elementary School and the Zbraslavice Elementary School, and it was the students from these schools, led by the captain, a representative of Foxconn, who won their second victory in a row.

I am very pleased that our team defended the first place and qualified for the national finals. Every year it's a new team of new students who have to work together, with high school students collaborating with those from elementary school," said the captain of the competing team, PR and Communications Manager Pavel Kožený, adding: "It's great to work with talented young people and see that competitive students and pupils are still growing. They all deserve great thanks because defending a title is always harder than the first victory, and they represent not only their schools but also our company.

A Hydrogen-powered Car

While the judges carefully checked every screw, tightness, functionality, and compliance with the project documentation, students from our partner school, Kutná Hora Vocational School, Technical High School, and Elementary School, presented a demonstration of their school practice. They showcased a remotely controlled car model with a hydrogen drive, 3D printing of various objects, and a car that can "see".

The final round will take place in Prague on June 26-27, where the Foxconn team composed of the same students will defend their first place in the national finals from last year.
