Foxconn successfully concluded the eighth edition of its largest corporate charity event in the Pardubice and Kutná Hora regions this year – Foxconn X-Day 2025. The event, held this past weekend in both cities, attracted a record number of participants and generated the highest-ever amount for distribution – 600,000 CZK.

“This year, we wanted not only to continue the tradition but also raise the bar even higher,” says Radka Svobodová, Compliance, PR and Communications Manager at Foxconn Czech Republic, at the start of the recap.

How the event unfolded

Nearly 100 individuals, groups, schools and associations applied, seeking support for their charitable, cultural, sporting or community projects. Registration ran from 15 September to 12 October 2025 via the website www.foxconn.cz/xday.

In the first round, an internal jury composed of Foxconn employees selected 10 finalists and 1 X-Day Junior project from each region. In total, 22 projects advanced to the next phase. They were subsequently evaluated by an expert jury made up of prominent figures from both regions – in Pardubice, for instance, this included David Koppitz, Director of the Sféra Educational Centre Pardubice; Jana Machová, Director of the Pardubice NGO Coalition; Tomáš Vlasák, Director of the CzechInvest regional office; or Jan Šotola, Deputy Governor of the Pardubice Region responsible for education. In Kutná Hora, the jury included Veronika Lebedová, Director of the Tyl Theatre; Kateřina Daczická from the Mikuláš Daczický of Heslov Endowment Fund; and Vladimír Střihavka, Director of the District Chamber of Commerce.

The result was the allocation of 300,000 CZK to projects in each region. Financial contributions supported, for example, a project helping children in need of specialist psychological care, as well as initiatives focused on abandoned animals. Sports and cultural projects were also represented, such as the restoration of the traditional carnival (Masopust) in Kutná Hora.

“Our aim was to select projects with short-term impact, but also those offering long-term value and the potential to inspire others,” said Martin Vencl, Head of PR and Communications at Foxconn Czech Republic, during the awards ceremony. “We felt immense energy and a genuine desire to make things better in both regions,” added Radka Svobodová.

X-Day Junior: Young Participants Showed Creativity and Courage
Special attention was given to the X-Day Junior category, designed for pupils and students from schools in both the Pardubice and Kutná Hora regions. They not only had to design and write their project proposals, but will also have to implement them independently. Teachers and mentors serve mainly as guides and advisors, while the students themselves take full responsibility for the outcomes. An example is the project “Clean School” by students of the Secondary Technical School in Kutná Hora, who proposed recycling plastics and cans directly at school and reusing the processed material, for instance as filament for 3D printing. “This is a project that clearly makes sense. And if it proves viable, I would very much encourage the students and the school to share their success with others so it can spread further,” said Martin Vencl at the Foxconn X-Day finals. A total of two financial awards of 30,000 CZK were granted in this category.

A Tradition That Continues to Grow
Over the eight years of the competition, more than 350 projects have taken part, with Foxconn distributing over 3.5 million CZK among them. Organisers described the 2025 edition as the most successful in the programme’s history. Foxconn has confirmed that it will continue the tradition next year – with a strong focus on sustainability, collaboration and supporting local initiatives.
