A student team sponsored and mentored by Foxconn has won the regional round of the T-PROFI – Talents for Companies competition for the Central Bohemian Region. In the milestone 10th edition, held on 31 March at the Municipal House in Nymburk, the Foxconn team successfully defended their title for the fifth consecutive time, earning a spot in the national finals in Prague.

This year's competition challenge required teams to construct and commission a functional "weighing station" model from the Merkur polytechnic construction kit according to technical blueprints within a two-hour window. Six regional teams competed, each composed of primary school pupils, secondary school students, and a designated corporate mentor from regional industry.

The Foxconn team brought together pupils from ZŠ Zbraslavice and students from VOŠ, SPŠ and JŠ Kutná Hora, institutions with which Foxconn maintains long-term educational partnerships. Guided by team captain Pavel Novotný, a manager at Foxconn Kutná Hora, the team designed, assembled, and operated the functional model within the designated time frame and quality specifications.

"I am thrilled that our team managed to win once again. Every year brings a new group of pupils and students who must quickly learn to collaborate across different age levels, and for me as a captain, it was also a premiere. That makes this achievement even more gratifying. Furthermore, it is inspiring to see a motivated younger generation eager to innovate and push boundaries. My thanks go out to everyone on the team; defending a title is always harder than winning it the first time," commented Pavel Novotný.

With this regional victory, the Foxconn team advances to the national finals in mid-June in Prague, where they will face the best teams from across the Czech Republic.
