The idea for the charity run came from the friends of Libor Záhořík four years ago. He himself tragically died in a road accident in 2022. It is in his honour that the popular race now bears his name. This already traditional run will this year feature several new elements. The most visible for runners will be the enriched programme and a participation gift.

The race start and its routes lead around Foxconn, where Libor himself used to run. For the first time, two routes will be prepared. The shorter one-kilometre track is intended for children and beginners – simply for those who usually watch the runners rather than run themselves. The second, a 4.5-kilometre section, is aimed at those who wish to stretch themselves a little more and perhaps push their limits. Whether participants choose the shorter or longer route, each of them will take home a medal and a functional T-shirt as a memento. “The aim is to thank them for their start, because by their activity they contribute to a good cause,” explains Radka Svobodová, Compliance and PR Manager at Foxconn Czech Republic.

That good cause is a 50,000 CZK donation from Foxconn Czech Republic to help two-year-old Isabellka. She is a brave little fighter currently undergoing demanding treatment. Doctors are working to remove a tumour from her head so that she can return to a normal life. Isabellka was chosen from many in need by Charita Kutná Hora, which supports people with many types of disabilities. “Isabellka is very clever, but she does not yet speak. As a mother, this worries me. I know that every child develops differently, but when I see her peers already saying their first words, it is painful. My biggest fear is that it could be linked to her condition. A challenging journey awaits us. I share this story because I believe openness helps, and I also hope for support and understanding,” says her mother, Monika Petřivalská.

And what other new features can visitors look forward to this year? Martin Vencl, Head of PR and Communications at Foxconn Czech Republic, reveals: “Sports clubs from the Kutná Hora region, such as floorball, ball hockey and ice hockey teams, will be presenting themselves here. Children will be able to try out various sports and perhaps discover a hidden talent. I also believe that the theatre performance for the youngest, where a children’s theatre group from Kutná Hora will perform a fairy tale, will be very attractive. We are doing everything we can to prepare a pleasant morning for both runners and non-runners, for young and old, whether it rains or shines.”

Further details about the run are available on Facebook under the name Libor’s Run, where those interested can also register directly. It will also be possible to register on site on the day of the event.
