On Wednesday 9 August, the charity Foxconn Run took place with a record number of 270 runners. A monetary donation of CZK 50,000 was presented to the family of Filípek, who was born with a very rare genetic disease, by Nicky Monaghan, Vice President of Foxconn Czech Republic.

"We are very pleased to be able to support three-year-old Filípek with this donation. We know that he needs intensive long-term neurorehabilitation, he also goes for hippo therapy, speech therapy and other examinations. This donation will provide one year of funding for special therapy," said Nicky Monaghan, Vice President of Foxconn Czech Republic, after the donation was presented. Phillip was born with a very rare genetic condition - Phelan-Mcdermid syndrome. However, the family does not lose hope and tries to find as many ways as possible to help in his development. There are only two children with this syndrome in the Czech Republic, so treatment is a challenge for doctors and scientists.

"This exceptional sporting and social event attracts visitors from all over the Czech Republic every year and I am glad that this year we could support Filípek, who is a client of the Kutná Hora Regional Charity," said John Gallagher, Vice President of Foxconn's Kutná Hora plant. "I am proud that Foxconn, which is the general partner of the entire Sports Park Pardubice, has been helping this race for several years. It has become a beautiful tradition," concluded Vice President Nicky Monaghan.

The race was also attended by selected professional athletes from Pardubice clubs. There were representatives of the hockey Dynamo, floorball Sokols and basketball and football players from BK and FK Pardubice.

The zone offered several activities for children and a pleasant relaxation corner for parents. There were refreshing surprises waiting for Foxconn employees from the beginning to the end of the Sports Park. This time in the form of free popsicles for the whole family.
